Updates <br /> CERT/Citizen Corps Council <br /> Deputy Director Paetznick noted there has been a push by the National Citizen Corps Council <br /> office, through FEMA, to re-register our program. <br /> Department Reports <br /> Human Rights <br /> Commissioner Woods will be attending the meeting in St. Cloud on Saturday, February 26, <br /> regarding reducing the daily number of juveniles going to the Juvenile Detention Center. <br /> Commissioner Kroll and Commissioner Haring will also attend. <br /> Allina Medical <br /> Mr. Dave Matteson provided 2010 statistics: There were 1,292 emergency responses to ew <br /> Brighton, 93% in 10 minutes or less. The average response time was 7:27. <br /> He will get a breakdown on the types of calls and non-emergency calls for the next meeting. <br /> On March 22,Allina will attend the Council meeting to hand out two Stork Awards to Officer <br /> Krebsbach and Officer Layton for their assistance in delivering a baby. <br /> Mr. Kevin Miller, Director of Operations—Allina, gave a brief background on himself and the <br /> Allina organization. Allina Medical Transportation is one part of Allina Medical. Allina <br /> Medical Transportation handles 53,000 transports each year with 60 ambulances. Areas they <br /> cover include the north metro, Cambridge, Mora and Kanabec Counties, Wright County, the <br /> south metro, Apple Valley/Farmington and New Ulm. <br /> Mr. Miller talked about Allina looking to move their home base offices as they have outgrown <br /> their current location. He also talked about Allina's stroke care project where they look at high <br /> risk cases that are not transported to follow the outcome. <br /> A new program currently being done in Buffalo, MN, is the Community Paramedic Program for <br /> persons suffering from congestive heart failure. They will look at readmission issues and this <br /> program will have a paramedic assigned to each patient and the will follow-up with the patient <br /> by doing home visits to be able to monitor them more closely. <br /> Volunteers in Public Safety (VIPS) <br /> The VIPS held their monthly meeting last night. Commissioner Woods reported the following: <br /> o The VIPS will assist with the next Blood Drive scheduled for April 6th <br /> o The VIPS took the FEMA Flood Clean Up Class. <br /> o There will be MN VOAD training next month. <br />
