city of 41 VEW BRIGHIUN NEW BRIGHTON PARKS, RECREATION, AND ENVIRONMENTAL COMMISSION the city that works for you MINUTES AUGUST 3, 2011 Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 6:33 p.m. II. Roll Call Present: Commissioner Fields, Frischman, Jacobsen(6:34 p.m.), Kunesh-Podein, Lundberg,Nguyen, Parker, Trevorrow, Weber, Director of Parks and Recreation Breuer and Council Liaison Phillips Absent: None III. Minutes of July 13, 2011 MOTION BY WEBER, SECONDED BY FIELDS, TO APPROVE THE JULY 13, 2011 MINUTES AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED. IV. Old Business A. Park Tour on Sept. 7th/4:30 start time Breuer handed out a tentative schedule. Frischman agreed to help keep everyone on schedule. There will not be time to tour all parks. A meal will be provided late in the evening about 8pm after the tour. Snacks will be provided on the van. Frischman commented that it would be helpful if Commissioners visited the parks prior to the tour. Then if you had questions or comments about the park, we can discuss it on the tour or at a later Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission meeting. It's a great education. If you can't make the 4:30 p.m. time, please let us know in advance. We arrive at Totem at 4:30 and leave the park at 4:50 p.m. B. Parks and Recreation Capital Improvements Breuer stated there was a discussion that started last meeting about what items we have in our fleet, non-fleet and pavement management plan which is called the Capital Improvement Plan. Breuer handed out a packet to each commissioner. There are four areas: Parks, Community Center, Forestry and Golf Course. There are 203 items in this plan. This information was given to the commissioners so they would have access to information they have inquired about in the past. Chair Frischman introduced new Commissioner Mary Kunesh-Podein. V.
