December meeting. She would like to take a vote to see if they
would like to meet. Last year the Commission met to discuss the 5
top priorities for trail, bikes, walkways, which was then passed along
to the City Council. If the group would like to revisit that; maybe in
another format to bring it to the Council, she is open to that. Most of
the Commission members have been actively involved with
discussions involving MNDOT and Ramsey County regarding Hwy.
96 and I694. Chair Frischman stated she did not want to miss any
timelines or opportunities regarding these trails issues. We can meet
in December and re-visit those 5 priorities and possibly have a
written formal statement that will go to the City Council. Chair
Frischman stated she is in favor of that. Council Member Jacobsen
stated if that meeting is not held in December, he thinks it would be
wise to have that same discussion take place in January.
Commissioner Kunesh-Podein stated she felt it was important to
look at what we did this year, and look ahead to next year to see
what we want to work on.
Commissioner Lundberg thought it would be a good idea to see what
was on the agenda for January so that we were not planning to push
too much into January.
Council Member Jacobsen stated the Council's initial kickoff work
session will probably be late January or early February of 2013. The
earliest it would be is January 10tn
Chair Frischman stated she would have communication with
Director Breuer to see what the January agenda looked like and then
ask Director Breuer to send out an e-mail to everyone letting them
know if there will be a December meeting. Chair Frischman stated
she would still like to have a discussion regarding trails, in January if
the December meeting is cancelled.
C. Commission Reports on Parks
Commissioner Lundberg: Driftwood/Hansen— No report on
Driftwood. At Hansen deer are eating some of the really young
Heritage birch trees.
