Further <br /> questioning of the suspect found that he had mental health issues and nobody had entered the <br /> residence. There were shots fired within the home but fortunately no one was injured. Several <br /> weapons were removed as well as thousands of rounds. Several people were in the home at this <br /> time but they were unharmed and were not threatened. The suspect was taken to Mercy Hospital <br /> for a psychological evaluation. This incident is still under investigation. <br /> We will be recognizing several Public Safety staff and Allina personnel with Life Saving Awards <br /> at our regular Council meeting on Tuesday, November 12th. Mr. George Mattson suffered a <br /> sudden cardiac arrest on July 21St and with pre-arrival instructions, a quick and professional <br /> response, and an AED, Mr. Mattson survived. He is now home and doing well. <br /> Commissioner Benke inquired what our estimated yearly dollar loss is due to fires. Director <br /> Jacobson stated it is probably$250-$500 thousand but he can get an estimate for the next <br /> meeting. <br /> Council Liaison <br /> A. Council Report <br /> Council Member Bauman reported API is going forward with their expansion; 75,000 sq. ft. in <br /> two buildings. <br /> There is a delay in Pulte Homes starting to build but it is still going forward. Council Member <br /> Bauman reported Pulte Homes will build 86 homes and 32 townhome units. <br /> Council Member Bauman reported the tax levy will be finalized on December 3rd. The LGA that <br /> the city received will all go back to property tax relief. <br /> Commissioner Woods asked if the city is required to have multiple home values. Council <br /> Member Bauman stated the townhomes will fulfill this obligation. <br /> Old Business <br /> No old business to report. <br /> New Business <br /> Commissioner Woods asked how County Road E apartments have been. Director Jacobson <br /> reported they have been quiet. <br /> The Commission discussed November and December meetings. The Commission decided to <br /> meet in November on its regularly scheduled date and cancel the December meeting,unless <br /> something comes up requiring the commission to meet. <br /> Adjourn <br /> Commissioner Hollimon made a motion to adjourn the October Public Safety Commission <br /> meeting; seconded by Commissioner Woods; motion carried.
