A� <br />city of <br />BRIGHTON <br />the city that works for you <br />Present: Mayor Dave Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Brian Strub <br />Absent: None <br />Staff in Attendance: <br />Council Worksession <br />January 28, 2014 <br />5:00 pm <br />Bob Jacobson, Dan Maiers, Karen Halley, Sandy Breuer, Grant Wyffels, Janice <br />Gundlach <br />Guests in Attendance: Ryan O'Connor & Mary Jo McGuire; Ramsey County <br />Ramsey County Absentee Ballot Discussion <br />Deputy City Clerk Karen Halley explained to the Council the highly detailed process of absentee voting. <br />Director Maiers stated that he is in favor of Ramsey County processing absentee ballots. Council Member <br />Bauman and Mayor Jacobsen indicated that they would like to see us continue to offer in person balloting in <br />New Brighton as part of the Absentee Balloting process; noting that it is a service they like to provide to our <br />residents. They did decide that they want more info /data on our experience with Absentee Ballots and also <br />will want to know how much Ramsey County will charge us to conduct the Absentee process for us. <br />Ramsey County Prosperity Project Discussion <br />Commissioner McGuire and Ryan O'Connor from the County Manager's Office conducted the presentation. <br />Council requested that they return after they have completed their other meetings to revisit this topic and <br />supply Council with an update. <br />Windmills — Ordinance Discussion <br />Time did not allow for this discussion. <br />The work session adjourned at 6:30 pm. <br />
