UTILITIES
This property has the necessary fire protection and other utilities in place for our
use. Many of our buses are plugged in at night so they start on cold mornings. They
are standard 110-volt power lines and should not require special feeds.
LIGHTING
There is adequate in-place lighting in and around the building as this building is
relatively new. Should we need to replace or add any lights,we will bring those
lights up to code in regards to dark sky fixture requirements and any other city
requirements and best practices.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS
Our main operations are on school days (167 days) of the year from about 6am-
6pm. During that time, there will be employees entering 1st Street SW,turning
down 5th Street SW and entering the employee entrance. Employees generally come
and go in stages. Buses leave and return in stages. While schools start at the same
time, some routes are longer than others. Additionally, different buildings have
different bell times within the district. Buses will enter the westerly gate on the
north side and exit the easterly gate on the north side of the property. There are
truck terminals along 1st Street SW up to Old Highway 8. Our buses will then travel
arterial roads to their specific section of the Mounds View School District and then
begin their route.
PARKING
Our employees will park on the lot within the fence on the western side of the
property as described above. Our buses will park in the main building,in the shop,
and along the North and East side of the property. All vehicles will be parked on
blacktop. We will stripe the lot so that it is organized and functional. The Mounds
View contract calls for 54 Big Buses, 31 Type-A or smaller special ed buses, and
spares. All buses parked on the property will be DOT inspected and good rolling
stock. The only disabled buses that would be on the property would be ones that
may be waiting for a repair on a short-term basis.
