He <br />was honored to have been part of the award winning project. <br />Councilmember Bauman thanked Mr. Schmidt for assisting the City with this video and for submitting it for <br />an award. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen appreciated the partnership the City had with CTV. <br />Mayor Jacobsen commended Joe Hatch and Kevin Schmidt on their efforts and presented them with the Best <br />of the Midwest Invitational 2014 Award of Excellence. <br />4. She commended the City on its <br />efforts in the lawsuit against the Federal Government. She was pleased with the positive settlement and how <br />this would assist the City in providing a clean water supply. She updated the Council on TCAAP and noted <br />all remediation work would be completed by May 2015. She reported the TCAAP site has been renamed <br />Rice Creek Commons. She then provided the Council with the legislative agenda and explained in detail the <br />goals and activities completed by Ramsey County for its residents. <br />Councilmember Strub thanked Commissioner McGuire for her continued partnership with the City of New <br />Brighton. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen discussed the upcoming improvement projects for County Road 96 and 10'b Street. <br />He appreciated the work Commissioner McGuire does for the City. <br />Councilmember Bauman expressed her concerns regarding transit and traffic in and around New Brighton. <br />She understood that light rail would not be coming to her City and was being paid for by the entire metro area. <br />She encouraged Commissioner McGuire to closely review transit issues proposed for this region. She <br />questioned who paid for the cleanup of TCAAP. Commissioner McGuire explained that the federal <br />government would be reimbursing the County for the cleanup to a commercial level and the County would <br />be funding the difference. <br />Councilmember Bauman requested the County consider assisting the City of New Brighton with parcels that <br />needed cleanup. <br />Mayor Jacobsen believed that the 94 bus route should be extended further into New Brighton.
