-- <br />Pug <br />Parks and Recreation Director Brueur stated staffhas supplied Pulte Homes with the proposed park design. <br />Staff hoped to have this information on the City's website shortly. <br />3 Ayes,1 Nay (Bauman opposed) -Motion Carried <br />Consideration of Bids and Award of Contract for City Project 15-15, City Hall Tenant <br />Improvements. <br />Motion by Councilmember Strub, seconded by Councilmember Burg to accept all bids and adopt <br />a Resolution awarding a contract for City Project 15-15, City Hall Lower Level Remodel <br />to the lowest responsible bidder, Dering Pierson Group, LLC, in the amount of <br />$344,433.10. <br />CommunityAssets and Development Director Schlichting provided a project timeline for Project 15-15. <br />He explained the City Hall Tenant Improvements project consists of an update of the lower level <br />office area, storage area for City files and archives, and the upper and lower level bathrooms. <br />During the development of plans it was determined that the existing ceiling and grid could not <br />be re -used, and that the existing lighting required replacement. Two other components not <br />included in the original scope were added to take advantage of contractors being on-site. One <br />of these items includes the creation of an interview room, outside of the secure area and an <br />additional door in the basement of the Public Safety Center. The construction cost for these <br />improvements are $8,500. The second addition to plans includes the installation of room in the <br />storage area to be designated as a personal needs room (medical or nursing). Based on the <br />Women's Economic Security Act of 2014 and the American's with Disabilities Act this room <br />cannot be located in a bathroom. The construction cost for these improvements are $17,900. <br />The following four bids were received and opened by staff at 10:00 a.m. on February 16, 2016: <br />1. Dering Pierson Group, LLC $344,433.10 <br />2. Hamline Construction $386,067 <br />3. CoBeck Construction Company $420,900 <br />4. Versacon, Inc. $580,910 <br />Community Assets and Development Director Schlichting indicated the lowest responsible bidder, <br />Dering Pierson Group, LLC, has not done work for the City in the past, but has done similar <br />work and is qualified and capable of performing work of this kind and magnitude. This project, <br />if awarded, must be completed by the end of May 2016. Staff recommended the Council accept <br />all bids and adopt a Resolution awarding a contract for City Project 15-15, City Hall Lower <br />Level Remodel to the lowest responsible bidder, Dering Pierson Group, LLC, in the amount of <br />$344,433.10 <br />Councilmember Bauman thanked the Public Works staff members that have been completing the demolition <br />work. <br />Mayor Johnson appreciated the fact that all City staffwas working through the reconstruction process. <br />Councilmember Burg thanked City staff for stepping up and assisting with the demolition work as well. She <br />questioned if staffhad come across any historical artifacts.
