GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR RESIDENTIAL COLLECTIONS <br /> <br />2.1 Contractor Service Requirements <br /> <br />The Contractor agrees to provide residential recycling services to all single-family <br />households, duplexes, triplexes, townhomes, and five MFD buildings (as selected by the <br />City) at the rates set forth in Section 4.1 of this Agreement. The Contractor agrees that it <br />will provide recycling services to other MFD buildings, churches and businesses if <br />requested by the City and the owner. In that event, the Contractor and the City shall <br />determine the rate that will be charged by the Contractor to provide recycling services for <br />these properties. Properties that are being provided with recycling services by the <br />Contractor must have the recycling container placed at the curb for collection, or a <br />location that is acceptable to the Contractor. <br /> <br />2.2 Contractor Licensing Requirements <br /> <br />Haulers of recyclable materials must have a license issued by the City, per City Code <br />(Sec. 11-32). <br /> <br />2.3 Collection Vehicle Equipment Requirements <br /> <br />All collection vehicles used in performance of this Agreement shall be duly licensed and <br />inspected by the State of Minnesota and shall operate within the weight allowed by <br />Minnesota Statutes. Per the City Code (Sec. 11-35), “in the case of recycling, appropriate <br />container vehicles shall be used that are in good condition and that prevent loss in transit <br />of liquid or solid cargo. All vehicles shall be kept clean and as free from offensive odors <br />as possible”. <br /> <br />Each collection vehicle shall be equipped with the following: <br /> <br />a. Two-way communications device; <br />b. First aid kit; <br />c. An approved 2A1OBC Dry Chemical Fire Extinguisher; <br />d. Warning flashers; <br />e. Warning alarms to indicate movement in reverse; <br />f. Signs on the rear of the vehicle which states “This Vehicle Makes Frequent <br />Stops”; and <br />g. A broom and shovel for cleaning up spills. <br /> <br />All of the required equipment must be in proper working order. All vehicles must be <br />maintained in proper working order and be as clean and free from odors as possible. All <br />vehicles must be clearly identified on both sides with the Contractor’s name and <br />telephone number. <br /> <br />2.4 Personnel Requirements
