Consideration of a Resolution approving a Special Use Permit and Variance for <br />St. John’s the Baptist Cemetery located at the northwest corner of 7th Street NW <br />and 11th Avenue NW. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Strub to adopt a Resolution <br />approving a Special Use Permit and Variance for St. John’s the Baptist Cemetery located <br />at the northwest corner of 7th Street NW and 11th Avenue NW subject to the five <br />conditions recommended by staff. <br /> <br />City Manager Lotter indicated Assistant Community Assets and Development/Planning Director Gundlach <br />would be presenting this item to the Council. <br />Assistant Community Assets and Development/Planning Director Gundlach explained St. John’s the <br />Baptist Church is requesting the following land use approvals in order to allow improvements <br />to the St. John’s the Baptist Cemetery, creating a Cremation Garden with above grade stone <br />cabinets used to store ashes (Columbaria) and associated improvements: <br /> <br /> Special Use Permit – required to resolve a non-residential use existing on a property <br />zoned for single family residential.
