8 <br />· 8 vehicles towed <br />Notes: St Paul officer arrested a Cancelled-IPS driver for Felony DWI (Test Refusal) <br />with this being the fourth DWI in ten years. <br /> <br />On December 30th at about 9:35 pm Sgt. Singer was southbound on Long Lake Rd when <br />he observed a southbound vehicle driving erratically. Sgt. Singer initiated a traffic stop <br />on the 1997 Acura Integra. The driver was identified as Kory Bakke, 44 years of age <br />from Mounds View, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Mr. Bakke had <br />slurred speech, an odor of alcoholic beverages and red and watery eyes. Officer DeBoer, <br />who was working a DUI enforcement shift, arrived to assist. Mr. Bakke failed field <br />sobriety tests and was taken into custody by Officer DeBoer. Mr. Bakke later agreed to a <br />breath test which resulted in a BAC of .23. Mr. Bakke has one prior conviction for DUI <br />in 2013 and combined with the high test resulted in booking on the enhanced charges of <br />DUI in the 2nd degree, a gross misdemeanor. He was also served with a Notice and Intent <br />to Forfeit his vehicle. CN 15017627. <br /> <br />On December 31st at about 11:09 pm Officer Wakasugi was working a DUI enforcement <br />detail in St. Paul when he observed a 1997 Lexus with license tabs that expired in <br />October 2014. Officer Wakasugi stopped the vehicle on York Ave near Payne. The <br />driver was identified as Tammy Williams, 31 years of age from St. Paul. Ms. Williams <br />smelled strongly of an alcoholic beverage and her speech was very slurred. She stated <br />that she had consumed two beers. Ms. Williams failed a preliminary breath test and field <br />sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. She later agreed to a breath test which <br />resulted in a .21 blood alcohol content. Due to the high test, Ms. Williams was booked at <br />the Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center on DUI in the 3rd degree, a gross <br />misdemeanor. CN 15017685. <br /> <br />Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office hosted the New Year’s Eve TZD Hi-Viz DWI Saturation <br />on Thursday, December 31, 2015, from 6 P.M. to 3 A.M. Ten overtime funded officers <br />and six reserve officers focused their efforts on the freeways in Saint Paul that yielded the <br />following: <br /> <br /> 142 traffic stops <br /> 11 people arrested & taken to jail <br /> 9 DWI arrests <br /> 12 drivers cited for DAR or DAS <br /> 9 vehicles towed <br />Notes: St Paul officer made 3 DWI arrests during the shift. Officers assisted with traffic <br />control just after midnight at a drive by shooting on Hwy 694 in Shoreview where a <br />motorist was shot several times. Reserve officers recovered an unoccupied stolen vehicle <br />in St Paul and kept busy all night assisting TZD officers and On Duty officers all around <br />the county. <br /> <br />IV.
