Cases Per Detective – 106 <br />Case clearance rate – 98.7 % <br /> <br />Abdullah Mohamed Nur, 20 years of age from New Brighton, was formally charged with <br />Assault in the 2nd degree, a felony punishable by a maximum of 7 years in prison and/or a <br />$14,000 fine and with Threats of Violence, a felony, punishable by a maximum of 5 years <br />in prison and/or a $10,000 fine. Mr. Nur chased the victim with knife. He was held <br />without bail pending a court appearance. Det. Matthew DeBoer completed the <br />investigation. CN 15016372. <br /> <br />Jeffery Chang, 20 years of age from Mounds View, was formally charged with Criminal <br />Damage to Property in the First Degree, a felony, punishable by a maximum sentence of <br />5 years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine. Chang was arrested for damaging numerous <br />vehicles with rocks on August 12th thru August 17th in New Brighton, Minneapolis and <br />Fridley. Det. Lochen completed the investigation. CN 16011491. <br /> <br />John Edward Forness, 56 years of age from Blaine, was formally charged with Violation <br />of Controlled Substance Law in the Fifth Degree – Possession of Methamphetamine. <br />This violation is a felony punishable by a maximum of 5 years in prison and/or a $10,000 <br />fine. Officer Farmer made the arrest on October 24th. Officer Layton completed the <br />investigation. CN 15014730. <br /> <br />Officer Layton assisted in another jurisdiction with the arrests of a suspect after <br />observing a hand to hand drug transaction. The arrest resulted in the recovery of $35,000 <br />in cash, and a later search of the suspect’s home resulted in a recovery of 1 lbs of cocaine, <br />5 lbs of methamphetamine, 50 lbs of marijuana and one handgun. <br />
