TRAFFIC SAFETY <br /> <br /> The following information contains summaries of significant traffic safety and traffic <br />enforcement incidents during the month. <br /> <br />On Tuesday, August 23rd Officer Craig was on routine patrol and observed a vehicle <br />travel by him with no front license plate. With the squad windows rolled up he was able <br />to smell a strong odor consistent with marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officer Craig <br />stopped the vehicle for the equipment violation and conducted a search of the vehicle. <br />During the course of the vehicle search he located 60 grams of marijuana. The driver, <br />Wayne Savage Jr. 07-09-89, arrested for 5th Degree Drug Possession and booked at the <br />Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center. 16010985 <br /> <br />On August 6th at approximately 6:43pm Officer Farmer was on patrol and stopped a <br />vehicle for speeding in the area of Mississippi Street and Stinson Boulevard. While <br />speaking with the driver, identified as Sandee Kay Olson (01/14/69), he noted she <br />appeared nervous and jittery and was unable to sit still. During routine checks Officer <br />Farmer determined the vehicle was not insured and it was the driver’s third violation in <br />ten years. Olson was asked to perform field sobriety testing which she failed to properly <br />complete and was arrested for DWI and GM no insurance. During the course of an <br />inventory search Officer Farmer located a round a glass pipe used to smoke <br />methamphetamine in her purse. A DRE evaluation conducted showing stimulant <br />impairment and she admitted to recent meth use. A search warrant was written and <br />signed for blood draw, blood sample taken. Olson was booked at the Ramsey County <br />Law Enforcement Center for 4th Degree DWI and Gross Misdemeanor No Insurance. <br />16010307 <br />
