November 28, 2017 Page 4 of 4 <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub reported he was looking forward to the December 5th Truth In Taxation <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmembe r Burg reported the Eagles Nest held a grand opening ceremony on November <br />18th. She read a prepared statement from the Parks and Recreation Director and shared <br />attendance statistics with the Council. She encouraged the public to get out and visit the <br />Eagles Nest and indicated this was a fantastic facility for children. She thanked staff for <br />working so diligently to complete this project on time. She reported PREC would be meeting <br />next on Wednesday, December 6th at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen agreed the Eagles Nest grand opening was a huge success. He <br />believed that the new facility was great for big and little kids. He reported the Santa Cop <br />program was underway and encouraged New Brighton residents to consider making a donation <br />at the New Brighton Public Safety Department. He stated on Saturday, December 9th the New <br />Brighton Fire Department would be assisting with bell ringing for the Salvation Army. He <br />reported the next Public Safety meeting would be held on Monday, December 11th at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson encouraged the community to attend the Truth In Taxation meeting on <br />Tuesday, December 5th. She commented on the recent election and stated at times it was quite <br />difficult. It was her hope that the community could come together now to address the needs of <br />the City.
