8 <br />Director Paetznick accepted an invitation from the Minneapolis Division of the FBI to <br />attend a meeting of their Civil Rights Advisory Group (CRAG). The event was held at <br />the Turkish American Society of Minnesota in Columbia Heights and featured a <br />presentation by United States Attorney for the District of Minnesota Andrew Luger who <br />highlighted civil rights cases and outreach efforts during 2016. <br /> <br /> <br />VI. BIAS CRIME REPORTS <br /> <br /> This section will contain any information regarding bias and/or hate crimes in the City <br />of New Brighton. <br /> <br />There were no bias crime reports this month. <br /> <br /> <br />VII. VOLUNTEER SERVICES <br /> <br /> This section contains information on our various volunteer organizations related to <br />Public Safety. This includes the activities of the Public Safety Commission, Police <br />Reserves, Police Explorers, and Volunteers in Public Safety (VIPS). <br /> <br />On January 7th, Reserve Officers assisted at the 2017 Health and Fitness Expo at the New <br />Brighton Community Center. <br /> <br />On January 15th, Reserve Officers received their 2nd portion of Use of Force training from <br />Officer Amberg and Sgt. Emerson. The training include use of the Taser, handcuffing <br />and searching. <br /> <br />On January 18th, our Volunteers in Public Safety (VIPS) coordinated another blood drive <br />with the American Red Cross that brought in 25 pints of blood. <br /> <br /> <br />VIII. HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT <br /> <br /> This section will review ongoing activities for homeland security and emergency <br />management. This includes the activities of the New Brighton Community Emergency <br />Response Teams (CERT). <br /> <br />No activity to report. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
