This party is well
known to our officers and was taken into custody without incident. His father advised his
son was to be civilly committed. The father showed the officers the paperwork. After
conferring with Coon Rapids PD, it was determined that the party be held on a Transport
Hold.

On July 18th, New Brighton squads assisted the State Patrol with a crash where the driver
had fled the scene. A building management
representative doing routine inspections encountered a unit filled with smoke and a strong
chemical odor. It was determined that the residents had set four “bed bug bombs” to fog
the unit in their absence. The employee was evaluated by Allina paramedics. As a
precaution, firefighting personnel washed their firefighting turnout gear to rid it of any
potential bed bugs.

On July 27th, squads were dispatched to the 500 block of Old Hwy 8 on a robbery.
