7 <br />Roseville Police hosted the TZD Hi-Viz DWI Saturation on Saturday, July 29, 2017 from <br />7 p.m. to 3 a.m. Seven overtime funded officers and two volunteer reserve officers <br />focused on Hwy 36, Rice Street and Larpenteur Avenue that yielded the following: <br /> <br />• 60 traffic stops <br />• 6 people taken to jail <br />• 5 DWI arrests <br />• 9 drivers cited for DAR/DAS <br />• 4 vehicles towed <br /> <br />Notes: St. Paul Police officers made two First Degree (felony) DWI arrests with vehicle <br />forfeitures on both. <br /> <br />On July 9th, Officer Kostohryz stops a vehicle for speeding. The driver was showing <br />signs of impairment. The driver failed field sobriety tests. He was arrested for DWI and <br />later tested a .12 BAC. He was booked for 4th degree DWI and an outstanding warrant <br />out of Washington County. <br /> <br />On July 13th, Officer Kostohryz observes a vehicle stopped with its turn signal on and a <br />party passed out in the running vehicle. The 49 year old Fridley resident showed obvious <br />signs of impairment. The party was unable to perform field sobriety tests. He was <br />arrested for the DWI then he refused to submit to testing. He was booked for a 3rd degree <br />DWI refusal which is a gross misdemeanor. <br /> <br />On July 15th , , New Brighton Police Officer Matt Farmer was honored during the <br />Minnesota Twins pre-game festivities at Target Field as a member of the Minnesota DWI <br />All-Star Team, made up of 43 law enforcement officers and prosecutors across the state. <br />All-stars made the team based on their total number of DWI arrests in 2016. This is the <br />10th DWI Enforcer All-Star Team selected for outstanding service in enforcement and <br />prosecution of drunk driving. The team combined for more than 2,600 DWI arrests last <br />year, with Officer Farmer making 105 in 2016. <br /> <br />
