4 <br />On October 22nd, New Brighton officers responded to the Silver Lake Road bridge over I- <br />694 on report of a possible jumper. Officers made contact with the despondent female <br />who was having suicidal thoughts. She admitted to being depressed and contemplated <br />jumping off the bridge. Officers placed her on an emergency hold and she was brought <br />by paramedics to the hospital for a mental health evaluation. <br /> <br />On October 23, New Brighton squads assisted a Ramsey County Probation Officer with a <br />38 year old client who was passed out from drugs at his mother’s home. After waking <br />the party, he admitted to using heroin the night before. The suspect’s mother then gave <br />the officers a “loaded syringe” of her sons. The PO was advised of the situation and he <br />ended up being charged out of custody for the drugs. <br /> <br />On October 24th, New Brighton squads responded to Wells Fargo bank on a male party <br />who was trying to cash a check in a female’s name for $412.31. The Wells Fargo <br />employee was suspicious and started to do some checks when the man ran from Wells <br />Fargo. Officer Griffin contacts the female on the check who advised she mailed this <br />check from an address in Mounds View the week prior and it was for a different amount. <br />Officer Griffin is following up on this incident. <br /> <br />On October 24th, New Brighton squads were dispatched to an assault call that occurred <br />earlier in the day. The victim had an allergic reaction to hand lotion that someone had <br />tampered with. The suspect and the victim work together but do not get along. The <br />investigation revealed the suspect had put several misc. household chemicals in the hand <br />lotion. The suspect is being with 5th degree assault. <br /> <br />On October 25th, squads were dispatched on a 61 year old female in cardiac arrest; life <br />saving efforts were initiated but after 45 minutes, she was declared deceased. <br /> <br />On October 27th, New Brighton squads responded on a vehicle traveling s/b Old 8 that <br />somehow lost control and was struck by a large utility type railroad truck traveling n/b. <br />The driver, a 35 year old St. Paul man, went into a traumatic full arrest. He was pulled <br />out of the vehicle and CPR initiated. Allina medics responded and ended up pronouncing <br />the party deceased. New Brighton FD, Detective Voeller, Roseville PD, MN State Patrol <br />assisted with traffic and the investigation. Detective Voeller made the notification to the <br />family in St. Paul. <br /> <br />On October 28th, New Brighton squads responded to a 911 call on Poppyseed Drive <br />where the caller stated that he needed help and that there were guns. Officers found a <br />large house party (estimated to be several hundred people), with many vehicles <br />attempting to leave the area and groups of 20-30 partygoers continuously exiting the <br />residence. The 911 caller approached an officer and stated that he was the victim of an <br />assault, and that one of the suspects had a gun. Despite the large crowd, officers located <br />the suspect, a 17 year old male from Mounds View, who was in possession of a 9mm <br />handgun in his waistband; this gun had the serial number scratched off its frame. He was <br />booked at the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center for possession of a firearm with <br />a removed serial number. A Ramsey County Deputy stopped two individuals who fled <br />from him by the Irondale baseball field and recovered a backpack belonging to one of <br />them which they had stashed in the woods nearby. Inside the backpack were found two <br />stolen firearms, a 9mm and a .380. These two adult males, both age 19 from Blaine and
