Pickleball Courts <br /> Acting Director Hicks provided background information regarding the <br />Pickleball Courts. <br /> Pros and Cons to having Pickleball were given for each park that had <br />tennis courts. Hansen, Hidden Oaks, Silver Oaks, Totem Pole <br /> Each park was looked at with its current amenities to see if it would be <br />possible to add pickleball. Each park listed below could not add a <br />pickleball court without disturbing a current amenity. <br /> Driftwood, Freedom, Innsbruck, Meadow Wood, Sunny Square, <br /> Vermont, Veterans. <br /> <br />It was noted in the presentation that noise abatement was also considered <br />through: location, design, equipment restrictions and acoustic panels. <br /> <br />Budget: Brooklyn Park approved construction of a 6 court facility at a cost of <br />$205,094.10. <br />Quote to remove and replace current court at Hidden Oaks was $55,500. <br />Comments from Commissioners: <br /> To retrofit is roughly $150,000 cheaper. <br /> Was the area behind the maintenance building considered? No neighbors <br />close. Acting Director Hicks stated it was not formally looked at. Right now <br />we were focusing on the parks.
