2 <br /> <br />full time jobs and there are three other volunteers. The planning starts <br />in December and January. The Farmers Market has had sponsorship <br />from local businesses to help keep it going. <br /> <br />We have been using Facebook to get the word out. Have about 2000 <br />followers on Facebook. Also have it in New Brighton Bulletin and Sun <br />Focus. <br /> <br />The sponsorship helps pay for signs and bring more people in. <br /> <br />United Theological Seminary has been wonderful in providing the area <br />for us to hold this event. We may need to look for a new location <br />because we are growing. <br /> <br />January or February they do a call for vendors. Give priority to <br />previous vendors. Last year it was about $200 for the season for non- <br />produce vendors and $150 for the season for produce vendors. Also <br />do a $25 weekly and we do half seasons as well. <br /> <br />VI. Old Business <br />A. Eagles Nest Replacement Update <br />Director Fink introduced Bill Bach, Facilities Manager, who is taking the lead <br />on the Eagles Nest rehab and brand new structure. He will talk to you about <br />the replacement program. <br /> <br />Facilities Manager, Bill Bach, gave a presentation. <br /> Electrical work has been done in the floor, added exhaust system and <br />updated the sprinkler system; expanded the automatic doors to open <br />simultaneously in the event the system needs to be used. <br /> Painting will be necessary along the front window. <br /> Currently the construction of the playground framework is being done <br />and assembly of decks. <br /> Another container of equipment will be arriving mid-October. <br /> Assembly of the dura-mesh comes next. <br /> The assembly of framework should be complete the middle of October <br /> The wrapping of the posts with foam in the structure is the last step. <br /> <br />VII. Announcements <br />A. Council Report – Council Member Burg <br />Thanked Bill and Jason for the report. <br /> Continue to work on the budget. Passed preliminary budget. Want to <br />have debt-free streets by 2025 which will increase our budget about <br />6%. <br />New Brighton is still the second to the lowest per capita in comparable <br />cities. <br /> December 5 is budget meeting here in the Council chambers. <br /> The Korean Church property purchase offers an opportunity to <br />increase our housing in New Brighton. City offered 1.9 million for the <br />property.
