3

This Sunday is the Historical Society dinner at the Eagles Club.
Sat., September 16th the City had Cleanup Day for residents.
B. Chair Updates
Chair Fields noted that there has been flooding at Hansen Park and the
dredging project will continue this winter.
At Lions Park we are waiting on the gravity rail with the new bearings.

Director Fink stated at the National Conference she spoke with a Miracle
Representative who stated there are new gravity rails out there and they are
holding up much better. The safety surface is scheduled to be installed next
week; weather permitting.
Parks Superintendent, Chris Wolla, stated Lions Park playground was a
community build and he thanked everyone for their help. It could not have
happened without you.

Assistant Director Hicks stated there were a total of about 40 individuals that
spent about 200 hours at Lions Park as volunteers.

Director Fink commented that Chris Wolla and his crew are excellent in what
they do. Because of their direction and leadership, it went as smoothly as it
did. Kudos to them for knowing how to make it work well as a community
build.

C. Commission Reports on Parks
Driftwood: Johnson. He was at Driftwood with his son who was testing out
the playground equipment. Did not see anything out of place, everything
looked good.
Freedom: Brunell. Looked at park this afternoon; everything looked
good. The ballfield looked good, especially after so much rain. The latch
on the Gaga ball pit door is gone.
Hansen: Fields. A few lights are out on the path. There is flooding. The
water is going past the dam instead of over it, so that seems to be
working. There is a lot of water coming out of the creek below the dam. A
woman walking in the park saw kids try to start a fire. The Police arrived
and handled the situation with the kids and cleaned everything up. There
is a lot of water in the hockey rink area.
Hidden Oaks: Quade. Drove by, the park, it looked good. Last month e-
mailed Chris about the park. If you Google Hidden Oaks Park, Meadow
Wood Park picture shows up. Google should be notified and proper
picture shown.
Innsbruck: Axberg. No report
Meadow Wood: Eischen. No report.
Silver Oaks/Totem Pole: Justin. No report.
Sunny Square/Vermont: McEathron. Both parks were looking good.
Picked up some trash at both parks. Vermont: a green basketball was left
there. Sunny Square: playground looks like it has a mold on top of it.
Playground may need to be power washed.
Veterans: Stenglein. No report.
