exterior brick and the structural blocks. This system was not working properly and damage was
found along the course the weeps originally installed.

During the investigation of the existing flashing system under the windows fifteen feet of the
original aluminum flashing was removed to identify the need for further mitigation of the system.
It was determined the flashing system was adequate. However, the replacement of anodized
aluminum flashing to match existing window system was necessary and at an additional cost.

The balance of the work included removal of four brick courses, insulation, old through wall
flashing and cavity sand just below the curved window system. New through wall flashing,
insulation, rope wicks, head joint vents and cavity mesh were installed. The new flashing with
rope wicks and head joint vents were installed to provide a better system to weep moisture which
will result in better thermal performance and longer life of the brick and mortar.

______________________________________
Bill Bach
Facilities Manager

Attachments:
 Contractors Application for Payment
