October 23, 2018 Page 4 of 4 <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported the City would be redoing the Council Chambers in November <br />and December with new audio equipment and furnishings. He stated he was excited for this <br />project and how it would positively impact the City’s ability to stream its Council and <br />Commission meetings. He described the work that was completed at Hanson Park and noted <br />the park was designed to hold rain water and was not flooding. He noted he would be <br />attending a MOSAC meeting on Wednesday, October 24th. He provided the Council with an <br />update on the City’s water treatment plant. He invited the public to attend an Open House on <br />Thursday, October 25th at Hanson Park at 6:30 p.m. where the redevelopment of the old New <br />Brighton Elementary School will be discussed. He noted the City’s website would have a <br />ballot question whiteboard by Friday of this week. <br />Graeme Allen <br />Councilmember Allen reported the EDC would meet next on Wednesday, November 7th at <br />7:30 a.m. He stated the group would be discussing the redevelopment of the old New Brighton <br />Elementary School. He encouraged the public to attend the CPY fundraiser, which would be <br />held on Friday, October 26th. He explained letters would be sent to the public from Home <br />Line, a partner with the City, to inform residents of the opportunity to secure exterior sewer <br />line insurance coverage. <br />Emily Dunsworth <br />Councilmember Dunsworth reported the Fire Station Open House would be held on Monday, <br />October 29th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. She explained the Ramsey County Charter <br />Commission was seeking volunteers at this time. <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported PREC would meet next on Wednesday, November 7th at <br />6:30 p.m. He stated the Lions would be hosting a Wine Tasting event at Adagio’s on <br />Wednesday, October 24th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The cost for this event was $20. He <br />explained he would be attending the CPY fundraiser and encouraged the public to attend. He <br />noted early voting was now open at the Community Center Monday through Friday from 8:00 <br />a.m. to 4:30 p.m. <br />Acting Mayor Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg encouraged the public to get out and vote. She thanked the Historical <br />Society, Eagles and Lions for hosting the Harvest Dinner to honor residents 80+ years of age. <br />She explained she attended this event with her 93-year-old mother. She reported New <br />Brighton was a Tree City and has been for the past 42 years. She stated the Planning <br />Commission would meet next on Tuesday, November 20th.
