4 <br />This section contains summary data of the use of force used by our police officers. A <br />Police Use of Force Report is completed by officers each time force or restraint is used in <br />the performance of their duties. This does not include the use of handcuffs during an <br />arrest or detention situation. TRAFFIC SAFETY <br /> <br />The following information contains summaries of significant traffic safety and traffic <br />enforcement incidents during the month. <br /> <br />White Bear Lake Police hosted the TZD Hi-Viz DWI Saturation on Saturday, November <br />11, from 7 pm to 3 am. Nine overtime funded officers and five volunteer reserve officers <br />focused on Hwy 61, Hwy 96 and Co Rd E in White Bear Lake that yielded the following: <br /> <br />• 108 traffic stops <br />• 8 people taken to jail <br />• 6 DWI arrests <br />• 8 drivers cited for DAR/DAS <br />• 5 vehicles towed <br /> <br />Notes: SPPD officer made another “Hat Trick” with 3 DWI arrests during the shift. <br />TZD officers assisted SPPD police on a shooting near the St Paul/Maplewood border <br />after one of the shooting victims was driven to Saint John’s Hospital in Maplewood. <br />SAPD officer witnessed a road rage incident and attempted to stop the aggressor who fled <br />at a high rate of speed. The fleeing vehicle was a Minneapolis stolen and crashed after a <br />short vehicle pursuit and the driver fled on foot. SPPD K-9 officers attempted a track but <br />were unsuccessful in locating the driver. An adult female passenger in the fleeing vehicle <br />was injured due to air bag deployment and was transported to Regions for minor injuries. <br /> <br />Maplewood Police hosted the TZD Hi-Viz DWI Saturation on Wednesday, November <br />22, from 7 pm to 3 am. Sixteen overtime funded officers and six volunteer reserve <br />officers focused on White Bear Ave, Hwy 36, Rice St and Maryland Ave that yielded the <br />following: <br /> <br /> <br />
