5 <br />• 172 traffic stops <br />• 9 people taken to jail <br />• 7 DWI arrests <br />• 25 drivers cited for DAR/DAS <br />• 10 vehicles towed <br /> <br />Notes: An unusually high number of drivers with suspended or revoked licenses. RCSO <br />deputy stopped a car for going through a red light at 0130 hours and arrested the driver <br />for multiple felony warrants and then found the driver in possession of a controlled <br />substance. NSP officer made two 2nd Degree Gross Misdemeanor arrests during the shift <br />and one of the drivers had their 8 year old daughter as a passenger in the vehicle. MWPD <br />officer cited 6 drivers for Driving After Revocation or Suspension out of the 12 cars he <br />stopped during the shift. Another MWPD officer made a 3rd Degree Gross Misdemeanor <br />DWI arrest and found the driver had a felony warrant for Parole Violation from the <br />Department of Corrections. WBL officer made a 1st Degree Felony DWI arrest on a <br />driver for their fourth impaired driving offense in ten years. <br /> <br />Seventeen overtime funded officers worked county wide on Friday, November 24, and <br />Saturday, November 25, after Thanksgiving that yielded the following: <br /> <br />• 238 traffic stops <br />• 26 people taken to jail <br />• 22 DWI arrests <br />• 24 drivers cited for DAR/DAS <br />• 15 vehicles towed <br /> <br />Notes: Four SPPD officers with three DWI arrests during their shift and SPPD made 20 <br />of the 22 DWI arrests. <br /> <br />On November 10, Officer Farmer stops a vehicle for speeding. The driver, a 39 year old <br />Mounds View man, shows signs of impairment and fails field sobriety tests. The driver <br />is arrested and agrees to take the breath test which revealed a BAC of .11. The driver <br />was booked for 4th degree DWI. <br /> <br />On November 11th, Officer Farmer stops a vehicle for equipment and stop sign violations. <br />The driver, a 28 year old Andover man, had drug paraphernalia in his vehicle and in <br />speaking with him, he spoke of drones following him. He admitted to meth use. He was <br />arrested for DWI. At the PD, a search warrant was written and Officer Farmer was able <br />to obtain a blood draw. The party was booked at the jail for 3rd degree DWI. <br /> <br />On November 13th, Officer Craig stops a vehicle for miscellaneous moving violations. <br />The driver, a 25 year old New Brighton man, was showing signs of impairment. He fails <br />field sobriety tests and is arrested for DWI. At the PD, he takes the breath test which <br />reveals a BAC of .21. he is booked for 3rd degree DWI. <br /> <br />On November 17th, Officer Farmer was on routine patrol when he stopped a vehicle for a <br />lane violations. The driver, a 36 year old Mahtomedi man, was listed as a suspect in an <br />area fraud case in 2016. He appeared to possibly be a drug user. He failed field sobriety <br />tests. He had mixed answers about his past drug use and later stated he had used
