3 <br /> <br />On Sunday January 14, squads were dispatched on a report of an intoxicated male being <br />belligerent, and refusing to leave the residence. The suspect left with a bottle of liquor in <br />hand. He returned and began banging on callers door continuing to be belligerent and was <br />acting in a threatening manner. The officers located the suspect inside a vehicle. The <br />vehicle was running and parked next to the residence. An open bottle of alcohol was <br />observed in the front seat. The officers had to force entry into the vehicle. The male was <br />heavily intoxicated and non-compliant. The male was taken into custody for DWI, open <br />bottle, and DOC. He was transported to NBPD and read the Implied Consent. The male <br />refused to take the breath test. He was charged with 2nd degree DWI refusal. Officer <br />transported male to the Ramsey County LEC where he was booked. <br /> <br />On Monday, January 15th shortly after 9pm, night shift officers assisted the United States <br />Marshals with a felony warrant at an apartment building in the 2000 block of West <br />County Road E. During that time, a female subject who was visiting the wanted person <br />tried to leave the area and backed into a parked car in the lot. She was detained by the <br />Marshals and turned over to New Brighton officers who processed her for DWI. She <br />failed field sobriety tests and provided an evidentiary breath sample of .15 before being <br />booked at the Ramsey County Jail for 4th Degree DWI. <br /> <br />Early Tuesday morning, January 16th around 1am, officers responded to Cub Foods on a <br />report of three juvenile shoplifters that had fled the store with stolen items. An officer <br />stopped the suspect vehicle as it was leaving the parking lot. All three 17 year-olds <br />admitted to stealing items. The driver only had an instructional permit. Parents were <br />summoned to the scene and took custody of their children after making restitution for the <br />theft. The juveniles will be recommended for diversion. <br /> <br />On Tuesday, January 16th at about 3:20pm, officers responded to a car versus school bus <br />crash that occurred on Silver Lake Road at Mississippi Street. Allina was first on scene <br />and treating the driver of the car for apparent injury; 11 kindergartners were on the bus. <br />Paramedics also evaluated one student and the bus driver. <br /> <br />On Monday, January 22 at about 10pm, public safety responded to the 400 block of True <br />Street on report of a male unconscious inside his trailer and the strong odor of natural gas <br />coming from the structure. Firefighters made contact with the resident who was merely <br />asleep. They also found high-levels of natural gas inside the trailer. The resident advised <br />that he had left the burner to the stove on for a tea kettle. The structure was ventilated <br />and Xcel Energy responded to further check the house. <br /> <br />During the snowstorm cleanup last week on Tuesday, January 23, Public Safety <br />responded to D-Rock on Old Highway 8 SW on a fire involving a front loader parked at <br />the business’s gas pump. Firefighters were able to safely extinguish the blaze. <br />
