4 <br /> <br /> <br />On Wednesday, January 24 at about 8am, officers responded to a residence in the 2100 <br />block of Long Lake Road. A neighbor reported that the occupant was acting strangely, <br />including breaking windows on his own home. Officers made contact with the resident <br />and determined that he was experiencing a mental health crisis. They were able to <br />verbally escort him to an ambulance for transport to the hospital for evaluation and <br />treatment. <br /> <br />About 2am on Thursday, January 25, Public Safety responded to the 1400 block of 25th <br />Street NW (just north of Irondale High School) on a dwelling fire. A candle reportedly <br />had started a mattress on fire in the basement of the residence. Police officers were able <br />to evacuate the residents, including several domestic animals. Firefighting crews quickly <br />extinguished the blaze and removed the smoldering mattress from the house. There were <br />no injuries to the occupants or firefighters. The residents were allowed to reoccupy the <br />house afterwards. <br /> <br />On Thursday, January 25, New Brighton officers assisted with the search for a missing <br />elderly man who suffered from dementia and was last seen around 3:30 am at the Towns <br />Edge Terrace trailer park in Mounds View. Unfortunately, the victim was found <br />deceased in the creek along County Road H in Mounds View. <br /> <br />On January 26, Officers responded to a report of a "male down." The officers located a <br />male, who had an open bottle of liquor in hand, sitting on the side walk. The male refused <br />to provide his full name. Officer Riedel recognized him from previous contacts. Routine <br />checks on the male showed he had an active misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. He was <br />taken into custody and booked for the warrant at the Ramsey County LEC. <br /> <br />On January 26, squads were dispatched on an intoxicated female who was transported to <br />New Brighton by an Uber ride. She then got out and did not know where she was. She <br />was provided a courtesy ride to her residence in Maplewood. <br />
