8 <br />day Pickup for Felony DANCO (Domestic Abuse No Contact Order) Violation. <br /> <br />North Saint Paul Police hosted the TZD Hi-Viz DWI Saturation on Friday, August 17, <br />2018 from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. <br /> <br />Twelve overtime funded officers and six volunteer Reserve officers compiled the <br />following: <br /> <br />• 157 traffic stops <br />• 11 people taken to jail <br />• 8 DWI arrests <br />• 14 drivers cited for DAR/DAS <br />• 6 vehicles towed <br /> <br />Notes: One SPPD officer made 28 traffic stops during the shift with 30 violations cited <br />and 9 verbal warnings given. <br /> <br />Another SPPD officer arrested a driver for 2nd Degree DWI & Possession of a <br />Controlled Substance after a vehicle struck multiple parked cars and fled the scene with <br />heavy damage. The driver was still in the vehicle parked in front of the owner's address <br />when squads arrived. <br /> <br />Saint Anthony Police hosted the TZD Hi-Viz DWI Saturation on Fri, Aug 24, 2018 from <br />7 p.m. to 3 a.m. <br /> <br />Thirteen overtime funded officers and six Reserve officers completed the following: <br /> <br />• 138 traffic stops <br />• 17 people taken to jail <br />• 14 DWI arrests <br />• 14 drivers cited for DAR/DAS <br />• 6 vehicles towed <br /> <br />Notes: Four SPPD officers each arrested two impaired drivers during the shift. <br /> <br />On August 1st, Officers were dispatched to check on a male sleeping in a vehicle near the <br />boat launch at Long Lake Regional Park. When officers arrived, they observed a male <br />asleep in vehicle with the vehicle running. When they woke the male up, they noticed the <br />party smelled of an alcoholic beverage. He admitted to drinking "two shots earlier." The <br />party failed field sobriety tests. He was arrested for DWI. A inventory search of the <br />vehicle, they located an open container of alcohol in cup holder next to driver. They party <br />agreed to take a breath test which revealed a BAC of .14. He was booked for the DWI <br />and Open Bottle. <br /> <br />At 5:30am on August 3rd, squads were dispatched on a report of a “slumper.” The squads <br />arrived and observed a vehicle parked in the middle of the lot with a 25 year old New <br />Brighton female sleeping behind the wheel. She was woken up and officers observed <br />signs of impairment. The female failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI. <br />She agreed to a breath test which revealed a BAC of .10.
