13 <br /> <br /> <br />During the week of August 20th thru the 24th, Salem Covenant hosted a camp for youth <br />that was designed to teach them about various needs around the world and provide them <br />practical ways to serve and address needs locally. Officer/ Fire Captain Matt Farmer <br />along with Firefighters Bob Reif and Jeremy Berger attended the event on August 20th. <br />They discussed the mission of our Public Safety Department and the various things they <br />do throughout the community. They also gave fire prevention presentations and a kitchen <br />fire demonstration. <br /> <br />On August 7th, 137 block parties were registered for this year’s National Night Out. In <br />total, New Brighton residents’ donated 6200 pounds of food and school supplies to the <br />Ralph Reeder Food Shelf. <br /> <br />VI. BIAS CRIME REPORTS <br /> <br />This section will contain any information regarding bias and/or hate crimes in the City of <br />New Brighton. <br /> <br />No bias crimes to report this month. <br /> <br />VII. VOLUNTEER SERVICES <br /> <br />This section contains information on our various volunteer organizations related to Public <br />Safety. This includes the activities of the Public Safety Commission, Police Reserves, <br />Police Explorers, and Volunteers in Public Safety (VIPS). <br /> <br />
