10 <br />On October 9 and 10, the Fire Division visited Pike Lake Education Center as part of Fire <br />Prevention Month. Crews talked about fire safety with all the Kindergarteners in the <br />building, read a story, and the students got a chance to see a fire truck. <br /> <br /> <br />On October 25, Sergeant Nelson met with business representatives and members of the <br />Teamsters Union who picket the trucking terminal at 50 14th Street NW to address <br />ongoing concerns about disturbance, harassment, and nuisance complaints, and educated <br />both sides about state criminal law and municipal ordinances governing such behavior. <br /> <br />On October 29, the Fire Division held its 12th Annual Fire Prevention Month Open <br />House, with a large turnout of community members, including many families with small <br />children. In addition to the popular kitchen fire safety trailer demonstration and tours of <br />fire trucks, several partnering safety agencies participated with tables and displays. <br />Activities for kids included a fire hose spraying station, Halloween-themed craft, and a <br />physical agility course.
