<br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />Chair Nichols-Matkaiti explained the eastern property line could only be one storage container <br />high per MnDOT regulations. Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola <br />reported this was the case. <br />Chair Nichols-Matkaiti opened the Public Hearing at 7:16 p.m. <br />Nick Hellman, Hellman Architects, introduced himself to the Commission and noted he was <br />serving as a representative for the applicant. He explained the applicant supported the two <br />additional conditions as recommended by staff. <br />Chair Nichols-Matkaiti questioned how many truck trips would be generated by this business. <br />Mr. Hellman stated this was based on sales and varied quite a bit. <br />Stephanie Wolkerstorfer, Wolkerstorfer representative, stated she was familiar with items being <br />parked on the street. She understood there was no schedule to the trailers moving in and out <br />but asked if there was a specific number that would be moved on a daily basis during the first <br />shift. Mr. Hellman stated he could speak with the business owner and would pass this <br />information onto Wolkerstorfer. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner McQuillan, seconded by Commissioner Frush to close the Public <br />Hearing. <br />Approved 6-0. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Frush, seconded by Commissioner McQuillan, to recommend the City <br />Council approve the proposed Special Use Permit based on the Findings of Fact and <br />recommended conditions. <br />Approved 6-0. <br /> <br />2) ORDINANCE: An Ordinance updating language on zoning enforcement and enforcement <br />activities relating to the City’s most common complaints and issues. <br />Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola reported Council is seeking <br />recommendations on ways to improve our ordinance to address the City’s most common <br />enforcement activities, complaints, and issues. This ordinance specifically focuses on areas <br />Council identified as needing updates over the course of 2019. Staff provided further comment <br />on the proposed language amendments and recommended approval of the Ordinance. <br />Commissioner McQuillan asked how a complaint for a junk vehicle was initiated. Assistant <br />Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola reported staff would investigate a junk <br />vehicle if a resident were to call the City and make the request. Further discussion ensued <br />regarding wrecked and inoperable vehicles. <br />Commissioner McQuillan questioned if an apartment pool would have to follow the same <br />requirements as a residential pool. Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development <br />Gozola reported this would be the case.
