He recommended the <br />word utility be removed from the Resolution language under Section 2D. <br />Councilmember Allen asked what would happen to the pavement that would still exist. Assistant Director of <br />Community Assets and Development Gozola explained Pulte would be working with the property owners to <br />the north. He explained a portion of the roadway would be removed and turned to greenspace and the <br />remaining portion would be used for driveways. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Allen to open the <br />Public Hearing. <br /> <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br /> <br />The Public Hearing was opened at 7:08 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson asked for comments, there were none. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Allen, seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to close the <br />Public Hearing. <br /> <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br /> <br />The Public Hearing was closed at 7:09 p.m. <br /> <br />Amended Motion by Councilmember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Allen to adopt a Resolution <br />approving the partial right-of-way vacations to portions of a cul-de-sac on 7th Avenue NW, and <br />Vacation of a portion of 7th Street NW adjacent to the Midtown Village Development as <br />part of the recent Midtown Village Phase I (Pulte) approval removing with word “utility” in <br />Section 2D. <br /> <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays-Amended Motion Carried <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter thanked the Council, Finance Director Davitt and all members of the <br />leadership team for working together to build tomorrow today. He stated on Tuesday, <br />September 24th the Council would be attending a dedication at Hansen Park. He reported on <br />Tuesday, October 1st a ribbon cutting ceremony would be held for the Water Treatment Plant. <br /> <br />Graeme Allen <br />Councilmember Allen reported demolition of the old New Brighton Elementary School would <br />begin tomorrow and would last for the next two weeks. He stated the EDC met on <br />Wednesday, August 7th and noted this group discussed Open To Business, a CSI expansion and <br />a traffic study that was completed along Old Highway 8.
