He encouraged all residents to attend this great community <br />event. <br /> <br />Emily Dunsworth <br />Councilmember Dunsworth reported she attended the Public Safety Commission on Monday, <br />October 14th. She explained this group received a presentation on emergency medical services. <br /> <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported he attended the Planning Commission meeting on Tuesday, <br />October 15th. He stated the Public Safety Commission would be holding a Fire Division Open <br />House on Monday, October 28th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. He indicated he had the privilege <br />and opportunity to attend the Harvest Dinner where residents over the age of 80 were honored. <br />He noted he also attended the New Brighton Lions Spaghetti Dinner. He thanked Jerry Bensing <br />for his service with the Historical Society. <br /> <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported she represented the City of New Brighton at the Rise Gala on <br />Monday, October 21st. She explained the City was honored and received the Community <br />Partner of the Year for 2019, along with Medtronic and KCom. She discussed how Rise was <br />thriving at the New Brighton Community Center and thanked Parks and Recreation Director <br />Fink for her efforts to bring this organization into the community. She reported the Parks and <br />Recreation Committee would meet next on Wednesday, November 6th at 6:30 p.m. She <br />commented on the great work City Manager Lotter has done for the City and stated she <br />appreciated the high level of integrity he has brought to City Hall. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson thanked the school district for coming in and speaking regarding the upcoming <br />levy. She encouraged residents to get out and vote on Tuesday, November 5th. She <br />commented on the Thanksgiving for All concert that would be held at Peace Church in <br />Shoreview on Friday, November 22nd at 7:00 p.m. She stated the New Brighton Eagles Club <br />has a great opportunity to benefit students at Bel Air Elementary School and are seeking coats, <br />hats, snow pants, boots, gloves or mittens for elementary aged students. She commented on a <br />recent article that was printed regarding the basketball court use during open gym. She noted <br />this time was open for basketball but not for organized team practice. She stated 30 years ago <br />today Jacob Wetterling went missing. She indicated the way people in Minnesota parent was <br />changed forever on this day.
