9
V. COMMUNITY POLICING AND CRIME AND FIRE PREVENTION
ACTIVITIES

This section contains information on our community policing, fire and crime prevention
activities:

NOVEMBER 2018: Fire Tours and Public Education Events

Type: Date: Firefighter(s): Where:
Station Tour
(Officer Semanko Relative)
11/17 Reif PSC
Station Tour
(Former Pequot Lakes Firefighter)
11/17 Reif PSC

Public Safety received the attached invitation via Public Safety Commissioner Amina
Ghouse to attend the Open Mosque Day on Saturday, November 10 at the Islamic Center
of Minnesota.

Community Engagement Officer Krebsbach and Fire Marshal LaMotte recently
addressed the residents of Applewood Pointe about building emergency procedures and
received the following email of appreciation from a Board Member: “Many thanks to
both of you for taking the time out of your busy schedules to conduct the Shelter In Place
training presentation at Applewood this week. Over the past few days since your
presentation no small number of people have said how much they appreciated your
presentation. Not onl y for the great info but also your comfortable and friendly approach.
Most importantly at least 3 people have said they went into the presentation skeptical of
Shelter In Place and now believe it's the best way to stay safe. I think that number of
"converts" is higher.

VI. BIAS CRIME REPORTS

This section will contain any information regarding bias and/or hate crimes in the City of
New Brighton.

There were no bias crime reports this month.

VII. This includes the activities of the Public Safety Commission, Police Reserves,
Police Explorers, and Volunteers in Public Safety (VIPS).

The Reserves and Explorers conducted their monthly meeting in November.
