<br /> <br />something more neutral. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson suggested the Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Plan be made a priority for the next few <br />years. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dunsworth recommended it be clarified within the document that Stockyard Days was not run <br />by the City. <br /> <br />Councilmember Burg agreed with this suggestion and asked that the farmer’s market and antique car run also <br />have this same clarification that the City was a partner for these events. <br /> <br />Davitt suggested the document reference the benefit of having a long-term utility rate plan in place. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jacobsen recommended the new City tagline be included in the document. <br /> <br />The Council discussed the proposed salary and supported the recommended salary range. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson recommended the City Manager be named the City’s media contact within the recruiting <br />document. <br /> <br />Further discussion ensued regarding the application and interviewing timeframe. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson supported only the three or four finalists completing the psychological assessment. The <br />Council was in agreement. <br /> <br />Councilmember Burg and Councilmember Dunsworth were in favor of having a community meet and greet. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson recommended a City tour be completed for the three or four finalists. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dunsworth suggested interviews be held with other staff members, besides just the team <br />leaders in order to gain another perspective on the final candidates. Fink stated this could be done in a series of <br />rooms at the Community Center. <br /> <br />Liza Donabauer thanked the Council for their input and stated she looked forward to working with the Council <br />throughout this process. <br /> <br />Discuss Rental Housing <br />Mayor Johnson stated Councilmember Allen was interested in discussing the City’s rental housing. She <br />reported she sat down and discussed this topic with Councilmember Allen and explained he would like the <br />Richfield Ordinance pulled from consideration. She indicated Councilmember Allen would like the Council to <br />have a discussion on what housing entails. <br /> <br />Paetznick discussed the history of the property managers coalition between New Brighton and Mounds View <br />noting this group meets bi-monthly. He reported property managers, law enforcement, code enforcement and <br />the fire marshal attend these meetings to stay abreast of issues in the rental property industry. He believed this <br />was an important connection the police department can have with multi-family housing property owners and <br />managers. He stated he could provide the Council with further information regarding this coalition at a future <br />worksession meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson indicated she would also like a housing expert to attend a future worksession meeting.
