6 <br />Juul products had been moved to a drawer behind the counter, and the suspects only got <br />empty display boxes. Public Safety’s new surveillance camera trailer had been <br />proactively stationed in the lot and obtained video of the suspect vehicle entering the lot. <br /> <br />On Tuesday, April 23, officers received information that a female resident at an address <br />in the 1400 block of 25th Street NW had an active gross misdemeanor warrant for DWI. <br />The male homeowner allowed officers inside the residence and they found the female <br />hiding underneath a bed. She was arrested and booked at the Ramsey County Jail. A <br />short time later, officers arrested a female in the 100 block of 2nd Avenue SE for a gross <br />misdemeanor possession of controlled substance warrant. She took was booked at the <br />Ramsey County Jail. <br /> <br />On Thursday, April 25, officers responded on a disorderly customer at Cowboy Jacks. <br />Apparently, an intoxicated male became physically combative toward staff. Once the <br />officers arrived on scene, they observed a male fitting the description yelling and being <br />disruptive to other guests. Once confronted by the officers, the male began to toss drug <br />paraphernalia to the side and display pre-assault indicators. The party was arrested for <br />Disorderly Conduct and booked to prevent further criminal conduct. <br /> <br />On April 27, New Brighton squads responded to a call from the clerk at 201 5th Street <br />NW that the suspects from the robbery from April 21 were at the store. The responding <br />officers found the suspect vehicle which was occupied by the four suspects. All parties <br />were taken into custody. Det. Lochen is leading the investigation. <br /> <br />Officer Taylor Wodnick responded to Cub Foods around 7:30 pm on Sunday, April 28, <br />after two adult males, ages 36 and 31, loaded up a shopping cart with nearly $200 of meat <br />and then left the store without paying. The one suspect had his 8-year-old son push the <br />cart as the father led him past the cash registers and through the exit doors. The adults <br />were both cited for theft and trespassed from the store by a loss prevention employee of <br />Cub Foods. <br /> <br />On April 30 at approximately 2 am, officers responded to a 911 call for three males <br />looking into vehicle windows and walking up driveways of residences. While searching <br />the area, officers observed two males walking in the area and fitting description given by <br />the 911 caller. While making contact with the males, one of them advised officers that he <br />had marijuana on him. Upon a search of that male, a loaded firearm was found. The male <br />was booked at Ramsey County LEC for gross misdemeanor carrying a firearm without a <br />permit. <br /> <br />On April 30 at approximately 6:40 pm, officers assisted Mounds View PD search the area <br />for a vehicle that had fired shots into a home near our border. Several shell casings were <br />recovered. <br /> <br />II. USE OF FORCE BY POLICE OFFICERS <br /> <br />It is the policy of the New Brighton Department of Public Safety that officers exert no <br />more force than is reasonably necessary in the discharge of their licensed duty, and that <br />the use of deadly force is consistent with the law, training and our general orders. <br />
