17 <br /> <br /> <br />New Brighton Law Enforcement Explorer Joseph Super was featured in the April 1st <br />Irondale High School Daily Announcements: Joseph Super and his HOSA (Health <br />Occupation Students of America) partner Kate (Mahtomedi HS student), won 2nd place <br />in the EMT competition at the State competition in St. Cloud this past weekend. They <br />also won 5th place in the First Aid/CPR class. They have now been invited to attend the <br />National competition in Orlando, FL in June. Pictured with them is their 916 EMT <br />instructor Mr. Rud. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Firefighter Jeremy Berger was notified this week that New Brighton Public Safety will be <br />receiving a child safety seat distribution award from the Minnesota Office of Traffic <br />Safety. Seats distributed from this program must go to low-income families. Each seat <br />distributed requires a one-on-one or group presentation that includes a thorough <br />educational component. Delivery of this educational piece and distribution of the seat <br />must be done by a person who is current in Child Passenger Safety certification. <br /> <br />Property/Evidence custodian Sergeant Moore worked to clean-out the large storage area <br />of recovered bicycles that were due for disposal. A total of 51 bicycles were “recycled” to <br />the Bikes 4 Kids organization, a non-profit that refurbishes and redistributes them to kids <br />and needy people of the world.
