4 <br />Firefighters were kept busy on August 10 with three separate calls in a 40-minute period; <br />including a brush fire shortly after 6 pm on 20th Ave SW, an odor investigation on Pike <br />Lake around 6:20 pm, and a wire fire on 7th St NW across from the cemetery just before <br />6:45 pm. Later in the evening, staged crews and trucks at Long Lake Regional Park for <br />the Stockyard Days fireworks, firefighters had one final call for the evening involving a <br />malfunctioning gas fireplace in a residence on Stinson Court. <br /> <br />Two suspects forced entry into the underground parking garage of The View at Long <br />Lake Apartments on Monday, August 12 around 3 am and tampered with several vehicles <br />before making their getaway a stolen 2016 Scion. A total of five victims have been <br />identified at this time. Video evidence was obtained from the property. Oakdale Police <br />arrested four people who were in the stolen vehicle around 10 pm that night. <br /> <br />Officer Sonterre stopped a vehicle for several moving violations around 8 pm on August <br />13 and the driver falsely identified himself. The driver’s true identity was eventually <br />determined and he was found to have three active warrants for his arrest, including two <br />felonies for motor vehicle theft and check forgery and one gross misdemeanor 5th degree <br />drug warrant. He was also cited for false information to a police officer before being <br />booking at the Ramsey County Jail. <br /> <br />Around 3:30 am on August 15, officers responded to the south McDonald’s restaurant to <br />check the welfare of intoxicated male who was found to have an active felony warrant. <br />When advised that he was under arrest, he physically resisted and fled on foot. Officer <br />Thomas was able to capture the suspect after a short foot pursuit. The 33-year old male <br />was booked at the Ramsey County Jail for the warrant along with charges of fleeing <br />police and obstructing the legal process with force. <br /> <br />Officer Griffin and Allina paramedics were treating an alert and responsive 88-year old <br />male for chest pain at his residence on August 16 around 4:15 pm when the victim <br />suddenly went into cardiac arrest. They started lifesaving measures, with additional <br />police officers and firefighters summoned to assist, including NBDPS Community <br />Chaplain Father Paul Shovelain who responded to the fire pager and provided care to the <br />victim’s wife (the couple were coincidentally parishioners of his church) but <br />unfortunately, they were unable to revive the victim. He was declared dead and the <br />Ramsey County Medical Examiner released the body to the funeral home for burial <br />arrangements. <br /> <br />Officers responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 1900 block of <br />Rockstone Lane around 7:30 pm on August 16 involving a male who was reportedly at <br />the address with a gun. They found the suspect standing in the driveway and he was <br />taken into custody at gunpoint without incident. No gun was located. It was determined <br />that the male was suffering from a mental health issue and he was placed on a transport <br />hold to be brought to Unity Hospital by Allina paramedics for evaluation. <br /> <br />Firefighters responded to a residence in the 2500 block of Oriole Lane around 11 pm on <br />August 16 on report of sparks coming from the circuit breaker panel. No smoke or <br />flames were present. Electricity was shut off to the house at the main breaker and the <br />resident waited for Xcel Energy to respond for further assistance. <br />
