6 <br />New Brighton officers assisted with a perimeter following the pursuit of a motor vehicle <br />that had been initiated by Cottage Grove Police and the Washington County Sheriff’s <br />Office and was terminated near Highway 96 and Round Lake Boulevard in Arden Hills <br />around 10:40 pm on August 24. <br /> <br />An 84-year old resident inadvertently drove his SUV through the back wall of his garage <br />in the 500 block of Rolls Road around 4:30 pm on August 25, leaving the vehicle <br />hanging halfway out of the structure toward the drop-off in the backyard. The driver was <br />uninjured. Firefighters assisted Freeway Towing with removing the vehicle from its <br />precarious position and advised the homeowner to contact his insurance company about <br />repairs to the structure. A request for driver evaluation was submitted. <br /> <br />On August 26, New Brighton squads assisted St. Anthony PD with a robbery of their <br />Wells Fargo. Squads searched the area with negative results. Suspects were later <br />developed as the robbery crew that had done numerous robberies in and around the <br />metro. The suspects were located several days later. <br /> <br />On August 27, squads assisted State Patrol with an accident with injuries. <br /> <br />On August 27, squads were dispatched to look for a party at a New Brighton address who <br />had a warrant. The party was located and taken into custody. On his person, squads <br />located heroin and methamphetamine. He was booked for the warrant and possessing the <br />controlled substance. <br /> <br />On August 27, squads and New Brighton fire responded to Brightwood Hills golf course <br />on a “port-a-potty” that was set on fire. <br /> <br />Officers checking the welfare of a 41-year old female who did not show up for work <br />found the victim deceased in her Innsbruck Villa apartment on the morning of August 27. <br />The Ramsey County Medical Examiner removed the body from the scene for further <br />investigation. <br /> <br />On August 28, Officers responded to the Oak Grove Mobile Home Community around 9 <br />pm on report of a male yelling. Upon arrival, they observed the suspect, who appeared to <br />be under the influence of a controlled substance, assault a random person by head-butting <br />the bystander. The suspect disobeyed verbal commands and was physically combative <br />with the five New Brighton officers at the scene. Several other agencies also responded <br />to their call for assistance. A Taser was deployed and the suspect eventually was <br />restrained. He was transported by Allina paramedics to HCMC due to his drug-induced <br />state. One officer suffered a minor abrasion during the physical altercation. <br /> <br />A 31-year old male brandishing a BB-gun was threatening “suicide by cop” at a residence <br />on Rockstone Lane around 10 pm on August 30. He was found by officers to be unarmed <br />but admitted to having suicidal ideations. The male was placed on a transport hold and <br />brought to North Memorial Hospital for evaluation by Allina paramedics. <br /> <br />Public Safety responded to the Perkins Family Restaurant around 11 pm on August 31 on <br />a fire in the kitchen exhaust hood.
