9 <br />On July 12, Officer Farmer stopped a vehicle where the driver was showing signs of <br />being under the influence of stimulants. The driver was arrested for DWI. A search <br />warrant was obtained and Officer Farmer obtained a blood draw. The driver was booked <br />for DWI. <br /> <br />Public Safety responded to Silver Lake Road @ Forestdale Road around 5 am on July 13 <br />after a vehicle crashed into the semaphore control box and retaining wall on the <br />northwest corner of the intersection, resulting in significant injuries to the driver who was <br />the lone occupant of the vehicle. The driver appeared to not have been wearing his seat <br />belt and was ejected to the passenger side inside the vehicle. He smelled of alcohol and <br />was unresponsive as paramedics transported him to HCMC. Temporary stop signs were <br />placed at the intersection by Ramsey County signal maintenance. <br /> <br />Officer Farmer stopped a vehicle for multiple lane violations around 10:15 pm on July 20 <br />and detected the odor of alcohol coming from the driver, who admitted to having 3-4 <br />beers. The driver failed field sobriety tests and provided an evidentiary breath sample <br />measuring .13. The 27-year old Brooklyn Park resident was booked at the Ramsey <br />County Jail for 4th Degree DWI. <br /> <br />Officers responded to the area of Cowboy Jack’s around 2:30 am on July 21 after an <br />intoxicated motorcyclist was reported leaving the parking lot. He was found nearby <br />walking away from his motorcycle that he admitted to driving from the establishment. <br />The 41-year old New Brighton resident refused field sobriety tests, the preliminary breath <br />test, and an evidentiary breath test. He was booked at the Ramsey County Jail for 3rd <br />degree DWI test refusal. Management claimed that the patron had arrived in an impaired <br />condition and was only served water but no alcohol. <br /> <br />While on routine patrol through the Cub Foods parking lot around 11 am on July 24, <br />Officer Pyka observed a vehicle with altered license plates and verified that the <br />registration information did not match the vehicle. Upon stopping the car, he noticed that <br />the driver showed signs of impairment and failed field sobriety tests. He was arrested for <br />DWI and a search warrant was obtained and a blood sample taken. The 40-year old <br />Isanti resident admitted to altering his license plate as he planned to steal gas from a gas <br />station. His 28-year old female passenger from Saint Francis was arrested for possession <br />of suspected methamphetamine. Both were booked at the Ramsey County Jail. <br /> <br />Around 11:40 pm on July 29, Officer Kostohryz was dispatched to the Exxon gas station <br />at 201 5th Street NW on an injury accident. State Patrol Dispatch advised that a male <br />was witnessed limping from a vehicle on the I-35W ramp and walking into the gas <br />station. Officer Kostohryz located the subject who displayed signs of intoxication. He <br />failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI. His breath alcohol concentration <br />measured .18 and the 59-year old New Brighton resident was booked at the Ramsey <br />County Jail for 1st Degree DWI due to previous alcohol-related convictions. <br /> <br />Officer Austin Sonterre stopped a driver for crossing over the fog line around 1:30 am on <br />July 30. The driver showed signs of impairment and failed field sobriety tests. The 39- <br />year old St. Paul resident was arrested for DWI and provided a preliminary breath sample <br />measuring .19 but refused an evidentiary test. He was booked at the Ramsey County Jail <br />for 2nd Degree DWI Test Refusal.
