7 <br />• 12 drivers cited for DAR/DAS/DAC <br />• 11 vehicles towed <br /> <br />The Saint Paul Police Department hosted the TZD Hi-Viz DWI Saturation on Sunday, <br />September 8, 2019 from 4 pm to Midnight. This event was held in conjunction with the <br />home opener for the Minnesota Vikings. Eight (8) over-time funded officers produced the <br />following: <br /> <br />• 77 traffic stops <br />• 5 people taken to jail <br />• 3 DWI arrests <br />• 13 drivers cited for DAR/DAS/DAC <br />• 4 vehicles towed <br /> <br />Officers were asked to concentrate on major freeways and surface roads in conjunction <br />with the game. While it appeared that the vast majority of spectators (who either attended <br />the game in person or at a local viewing party) were responsible, the evening was still <br />busy. <br /> <br />On September 2, Officer Kostohryz made a routine traffic stop where he arrested a 30- <br />year-old male for 3rd degree DWI and Possession of Methamphetamine. <br /> <br />Around 1:30 am on Thursday, September 5, Officer Pyka found a vehicle crash on Robin <br />Lane near 13th Street NW. An intoxicated driver had crashed into a parked truck and <br />trailer. The New Brighton resident had been drinking at Adagio’s during a fantasy <br />football draft. His breath alcohol concentration measured .09. He was booked at the <br />Ramsey County Jail for 4th Degree DWI. <br /> <br />Around 10:30 pm on Friday, September 6, an employee of Big Louie’s reported that an <br />intoxicated patron who had been refused service due to his level of intoxication had just <br />left the establishment in a vehicle. The manager had offered to call the customer a ride <br />home but he refused. Officer Xiong located the suspect with his vehicle parked over the <br />curb in a nearby parking lot. The suspect refused field sobriety tests and an evidentiary <br />breath test. The 53-year-old New Brighton resident was booked at the Ramsey County <br />Jail for 2nd Degree DWI test refusal. <br /> <br />On September 6, a driver stops and asks Deputy Director Olson directions. The driver is <br />obviously intoxicated and squads respond to assist. Party was given a preliminary breath <br />test which revealed a .341 BAC. The 53 year old driver refused to provide a breath <br />sample in the intoxilyzer. He was booked for a 2nd degree DWI Test Refusal. <br /> <br />Around 12:30 am on Saturday, September 14, Officer Kostohryz stopped a driver for <br />traveling over the fog line on Rice Creek Road @ Stinson Boulevard. The driver <br />displayed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. Her breath alcohol <br />concentration measured .12. The 28-year-old Minneapolis resident was booked at the <br />Ramsey County Jail for 4th Degree DWI. <br /> <br />While working a DWI enforcement shift, Officer Farmer stopped a driver for speeding on <br />Rice Creek Road around 11 pm on Saturday, September 14.
