at .125. Mr. Hokanson was placed under arrest. He later submitted a formal breath test <br />with a result of .10. Due to a previous DUI conviction, Mr. Hokanson was booked on <br />DUI in the 3rd degree, a gross misdemeanor. CN 15003561. <br />On March 15th at about 2:09 am Officer Farmer was on patrol southbound on Silver Lake <br />Rd when he observed a 2003 Lincoln Navigator make an illegal turn from westbound 14th <br />St NW to southbound Silver Lake Rd. Officer Farmer followed the vehicle and observed <br />erratic driving including driving over the center line. Officer Farmer initiated a traffic <br />stop as the vehicle turned to westbound 1694. Officer Farmer identified the driver as <br />Stephen Mister, 42 years of age from Brooklyn Center. The driver appeared to be under <br />the influence as he stared at Officer Farmer for 3 to 5 seconds with a blank look on his <br />face. He fumbled through papers on his center console and added he "most likely" had <br />insurance. He became defiant and argumentative and denied committing any driving <br />violations. He also denied drinking any alcoholic beverages. Officer Farmer could <br />detect a strong odor of alcoholic beverages. He later acknowledged that he had been <br />"cheating on his girl" and was on the phone with his girlfriend when stopped. He then <br />became angry and stated that this traffic stop was like "Ferguson". He refused any <br />further testing and was placed under arrest. He had previous DUI convictions and due to <br />that history he was booked on DUUI in the 2nd Degree, a gross misdemeanor. CN <br />15003589. <br />On March 15th at about 2:12 am Officer Riedel was in the 800 block of Silver Lake Rd <br />when she noted a 2001 Mercedes make an improper wide turn and travel southbound on <br />Silver Lake Rd. Officer Riedel followed the vehicle southbound and noted erratic driving <br />as it made an abrupt jerking motion after crossing into a turn lane. Officer Riedel <br />initiated a traffic stop in the area of Silver Lake Rd at 5th St NW and identified the driver <br />as Jamie Sobota, 27 years of age from New Brighton. Ms. Sobota smelled of alcoholic <br />beverages and she stated that she had "a few glasses" to drink. Officer Riedel conducted <br />field sobriety tests and a preliminary breath test which resulted in a .203 result. Ms. <br />Sobota was placed under arrest. A formal breath test later resulted in a .14 alcohol <br />content. Due to two previous DUI convictions, Ms. Sobota was booked on DUI in the <br />2nd Degree, a gross misdemeanor. CN 15003590. <br />On March 16th at about 11:41 pm Officer Farmer was westbound on Mississippi Street <br />when he observed a 1996 GMC Van also westbound that was drifting to the right and <br />over the fog line. Officer Farmer stopped the vehicle in the 2700 block of Mississippi <br />Street and identified the driver as Thomas LaPadat, 41 years of age from New Brighton. <br />Officer Farmer could detect a very strong odor of alcoholic beverages. Officer Farmer <br />conducted field sobriety tests with Mr. LaPadat who had admitted to having four mixed <br />drinks but stated that "I'm home now". Mr. LaPadat failed field sobriety testing and <br />was placed under arrest. He refused to take a breath test and due to the refusal, he was <br />arrested and booked for DUI in the 3rd degree, a gross misdemeanor. CN 15003636. <br />St. Paul Police hosted the St. Patrick's Day Hi -Viz DWI Saturation on Tues, Mar 17, <br />2015 from 2 P.M. to 12 A.M. 29 overtime funded officers and 6 reserve officers focused <br />their efforts in St. Paul that yielded the following: <br />384 traffic stops <br />16 people arrested & brought to jail <br />11 DWI arrests <br />0J <br />
