End of pursuit
Weapon found on suspect
On March 1St at about 7:13 pm Officer Riedel was in the area of W Cty Rd D and Old
Hwy 8 SW when she observed a westbound 1996 Pontiac Transport minivan with its
blinker activated but no turn was being made. Officer Riedel further observed the
minivan driving erratically and after running the plate discovered that the registered
owner had a suspended driver's license. Officer Riedel stopped the vehicle on W Cty Rd
D at Continental Drive. The driver initially gave a false name identifying himself as
David A Brown. The driver did smell strongly of alcoholic beverages and had red,
watery eyes. Officer Riedel conducted field sobriety tests on the driver who failed. The
driver was arrested and he later refused to take a breath test. Officer Riedel was later able
to determine that the driver's real name was Jeffrey Brown, 49 years of age from New
Brighton. Jeffrey Brown has six previous DUI convictions and due to that record he
was booked on DUI in the First Degree, a felony. CN 15002858.
On March 6th at about 12:22 am Officer Farmer was on patrol southbound on Silver Lake
Rd in the area of Mississippi Street when he observed an occupied 1995 Ford Taurus
5
