TRAFFIC SAFETY <br />The following information contains summaries of significant traffic safety and traffic <br />enforcement incidents during the month. <br />Sgt. Nelson and his dayshift team conducted a traffic safety detail on Old Hwy 8 NW by <br />the Public Safety Center on May 9th (which resulted in 47 traffic stops and 9 speed <br />citatons). While doing so, a group of children with parents stopped by to give their thanks <br />for police officers and Firefighters for keeping them safe. Sgt. Nelson posed for a photo <br />with the children. They also dropped off a thank you card and some treats! <br />Ramsey County Sheriff's Office hosted the Hi -Viz DWI Saturation on Friday, May 8, <br />2015 from 8 P.M. to 4 A.M. 26 overtime funded officers and 5 reserve officers focused <br />their efforts on Hwy 694 from border to border that yielded the following: <br />280 traffic stops <br />20 people arrested & brought to jail <br />11 DWI arrests <br />14 drivers cited for DAR or DAS <br />13 vehicles towed <br />Notes: A Ramsey deputy arrested a driver for Possession of a Pistol Without a Permit <br />after a loaded 9 mm handgun was found in the center console of his vehicle. Mounds <br />View officer cited a driver for Driving after Revocation and also found the female <br />passenger was a juvenile runaway (in mom's car). Ramsey deputy arrested an impaired <br />
