New Brighton Police hosted the Hi -Viz DWI Saturation on Friday, October 2, 2015 from <br />7 P.M. to 3 A.M. Four overtime funded officers and 3 volunteer reserve officers focused <br />their efforts on Hwy 35W, Old Hwy 8 and Silver Lake Rd that yielded the following: <br />29 traffic stops <br />3 people booked into jail <br />3 DWI arrests <br />3 vehicles towed <br />White Bear Lake Police hosted the Halloween Hi -Viz DWI Saturation on Saturday, <br />November 7, 2015, from 7 P.M. to 3 A.M. Thirteen overtime funded officers and six <br />reserve officers focused their efforts on Hwy 61, Hwy 96, Hwy 35E, and Hwy 694 in the <br />northeast corner of Ramsey County that yielded the following: <br />164 traffic stops <br />12 people arrested & brought to jail <br />8 DWI arrests <br />7 drivers cited for DAR or DAS <br />10 vehicles towed <br />Notes: New Brighton officer arrested a driver for a Felony warrant for Burglary on his <br />first traffic stop out of Roll Call. St Paul officer arrested a driver found in Possession of a <br />Controlled Substance. <br />The annual Ramsey County Traffic Safety Initiative recognition dinner was held at <br />Silverwood Park in St. Anthony on October 14th. All Ramsey County Agencies and the <br />MN State Patrol had officers in attendance to thank them for their work in traffic safety. <br />Sgt. Nelson is our coordinator for our traffic safety programs and Officer B.J. DeBoer, <br />Sgt. Singer and Director Jacobson were also in attendance. <br />On October 17th at about 9:10 pm Officer Farmer was on patrol and observed a 2010 <br />Chevrolet Impala with a front license plate not mounted correctly to the front bumper and <br />also failed to stop completely at a stop sign. Officer Farmer initiated a traffic stop <br />completed at Innsbruck Drive near 29th Ave NW. The driver, identified as Diane Ward, <br />51 years of age from Fridley, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and failed <br />field sobriety tests. She was arrested and later agreed to a breath test. The result was a <br />.19 alcohol content. Due to the high test, Ms. Ward was booked on the enhanced charges <br />of DUI in the 3rd degree, a gross misdemeanor. CN 15014392. <br />On October 19th Officer Farmer was waiting for a tow truck to assist with a traffic arrest <br />that he had conducted at Old Hwy 8/Hwy 96. When the tow truck arrived, the driver <br />stated that a male in a silver Saab had been following him and "flipping him off'. The <br />tow truck driver pointed out the Saab. Officer Farmer initiated a traffic stop of the Saab <br />and identified the male as Alexander Gill, 22 years of age from St. Paul. Officer Farmer <br />could smell an odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle and paraphernalia was observed <br />in plain view. A search of the vehicle and Mr. Gill revealed that he was in possession of <br />suspected THC concentrate, eight pills later identified as methocarbamol and marijuana. <br />Mr. Gill was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and booked at the Ramsey <br />County Law Enforcement Center.
