She explained staff was working with <br />CivicPlus to find a way to gather additional race and ethnicity data. <br /> <br />Carlton reviewed the data as it pertains to applicants and current employees. She commented on <br />the last three years of applicant data. Current employee demographics were then discussed. It <br />was noted short-term summer employees were not included in this data. <br /> <br />Massopust reviewed several maps that broke the community down by race and ethnicity for the <br />population over 18 and less than 18. <br /> <br />Discussion included: <br /> The celebrations and activities held at the Community Center were described. <br /> The Commission requested the maps be overlayed with income and education data. <br /> The Commission thanked staff for the detailed presentation on the data the City was <br />collecting. <br /> <br />VI. Report from Council Liaison <br /> <br />Mayor Niedfeldt-Thomas provided the Commission an update from the City Council. She stated <br />the Council approved a Juneteenth proclamation at their meeting on Tuesday. She reported there <br />would be a grand opening at Brighton Oaks and Oaks Landing (the former Korean Church) on <br />July 12 at 3:00 p.m. She noted the Chalk Walk would be held at Veterans Park Friday, June 24 <br />through Sunday, June 26. She commented on the mapping prejudice map that was created for <br />Ramsey County and stated there were six homes in New Brighton that were found to have racial <br />covenants. <br /> <br />VII.
