Mr. Proper reported that 5th St NW was reconstructed four or so years ago and at that time, this street was narrowed to 38 feet wide to assist with "traffic calming." Mr. Proper distributed a stop sign handout which showed thc warrants that would need to be met to recommend an all-way stop. Mr. Proper stated this intersection does not meet the warrants and he would not recommend a stop sign. Comm. Elwell agreed and asked about the possibility oflighting the crosswalk with signage. Comm. Kelly added that Sunnyside Elementary puts out a triangle sign with a flashing li,~~t in the crosswalk. Mr. Proper stated he can check with Mr. Dan Solar, Ramsey County, about this type of a sign. Comm. Bredenbeck asked ifthe south side of 5th St should be posted "no student drop off." He also suggested if it would be possible to come off of 19th ,Wand access the back parking lot.
