Final development plans shall incorporate an expansion/extension of existing boulevard <br />plantings along Searles Drive from current plantings down to 14th Street NW. <br />7. The applicants shall follow conditions of any RCWD’s permit approval. <br />8. Future signage updates shall be reviewed and approved through the City’s standard sign <br />permit process. <br />Commissioner Nelsen questioned how long the City would have an agreement in place with the <br />Army that sets water pumping requirements. Assistant Director of Community Assets and <br />Development Gozola explained the City has a 20 year agreement in place at this time. He <br />discussed how the impacts of TCAAP would continue going forward, which would require an <br />ongoing relationship with the Army to ensure the City’s drinking water was safe. <br />Commissioner Enanaa asked if the City hosted a neighborhood meeting. Parks and Recreation <br />Director Fink reported the City hosted a neighborhood meeting and 10 residents participated <br />from four different households. She stated some of the issues that were brought up had more <br />to do with the large events that were held at Liosn Park and in the pavilion which are outside <br />the scope of the splash pad. She noted parking was another concern from the neighbors. <br />Chair Biedenfeld explained he lived in this neighborhood and he was excited about this new <br />amenity. He reported there were a lot of children in his neighborhood and he was nervous <br />about how much additional traffic would be brought to this park. He encouraged the City to <br />consider planting several trees in this park to provide shade. Parks and Recreation Director Fink <br />reported trees would be installed in the park and shade structures would be included in this <br />project as well. <br />Commissioner Frischman asked if the City would have signage or a QR code within the park that <br />would discuss the water usage. Parks and Recreation Director Fink explained the park had a sign <br />posted already that talks about the treatment system within the park. She indicated she could <br />post information on the website about the water usage for the splash pad. <br />Commissioner McQuillan asked if the splash pad would operate on the weekends. Parks and <br />Recreation Director Fink stated it was the City’s intent to operate the splash pad on the <br />weekends. <br />
