Call to Order <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair O’Rourke. <br /> <br />II. Roll Call: <br />Members Present: Commissioners Pauline Alfors, Gary Bank, Maren Hawkins, Kristin Hicks, Abe <br />McEathron, Julia O’Rourke (Chair), Becky Slabiak, Laura Sokol-Kraft, and Michael Spooner (Vice- <br />Chair. <br /> <br />Members Absent: Zoey Tenenbaum. <br /> <br />Also Present: Director Jennifer Fink and Council Member Pam Stegora-Axberg. <br /> <br />III. Approval of Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Bank, seconded by Spooner to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 9- <br />0. <br /> <br />IV. Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Chair O’Rourke reviewed two minor changes to the minutes with staff. <br /> <br />Motion by Sokol-Kraft, seconded by Alfors to approve the March 1, 2023 minutes as amended. <br />Motion carried 8-0-1 (Commissioner Slabiak abstained). <br /> <br />V. Business Items <br /> <br />A. Farmers Market Update – Angela Fredrickson – New Brighton Market Director <br /> <br />Director Fink explained the Community Center became home to the Farmers Market in <br />2018 after Global Academy purchased the Seminary. Staff has asked the Market Manager to <br />share an update on how the Farmers Market is doing, and highlight the partnership with the <br />City. <br /> <br />Angela Fredrickson, New Brighton Market Manager, introduced herself to the Commission <br />and stated the farmers market was a grass roots movement that began in January of 2016.
