<br /> <br />VII. Announcements <br /> <br />A. City Council Report – Council Member Pam Stegora-Axberg <br /> <br />Councilmember Axberg provided the Commission with an update from the City Council. <br />She stated she believed the City did a great job hosting National Night Out parties <br />throughout the community. She explained the Council just renewed the School Resource <br />Officer (SRO) contract with the Mounds View School District. She indicated the Council has <br />been reviewing a housing study and the implications that can be gathered from the study. <br />She anticipated the Council would be considering accessory dwelling units (ADU’s) in the <br />future. She commented further on the light pole banners that were being created for the <br />community and encouraged the Commission members to consider having their pictures <br />taken as part of this project. <br /> <br />B. PREC Chair Updates – Julia O’Rourke, Chair <br /> <br />Chair O’Rourke stated the park tour would be held on Tuesday, August 29 at 6:00 p.m. She <br />encouraged members to RSVP by Thursday, August 17. She invited the Commissioners to <br />attend the summer concerts at Veterans Park on Thursday, August 10 and Friday, <br />September 1 beginning at 6:00 p.m. She noted her children really enjoyed the story walk at <br />Freedom Park. <br /> <br />C. Department Happenings and Upcoming Events – City Staff <br /> <br />Director Fink provided the Commission with an update on the EV charging stations. She <br />noted four of the charging stations were on hold at this time. She updated the Commission <br />on the work being done at the golf course. She explained staff has begun work on the 2024 <br />budget. She discussed the changes that have occurred within the Playground Program and <br />noted staff may have to rethink this program for the coming year. She reported the <br />Community Center shut down would be held September 4 through September 8. She noted <br />Stockyard Days would be held August 11 through August 13. <br /> <br />VII.
